Born in Lisbon in 1954, he studied Sculpture in the 1970’s at The Lisbon School Of Fine Art  until he came to the age of twenty, to dedicate himself to another passion, the Theater, which took him to set, poster, prop and light design, and ultimately to the stage as an actor. Soon after, his first film would come.

The 1980’s were spent in London, working and living. On his return to Portugal he became a teacher for a few years.

In the 1990’s and the first decade of this century he dedicated himself to Television, Advertising and Cinema.

He presently lives in Lisbon, maintaining his activities and extending his painting to the Netherlands, which he regularly visits and where he has produced most of his work in the past six years, also visiting museums and historical places that have much changed his views of the present world, both abroad and mostly at home. This has been his third major change in artistic life.

“One must go away, so that the distance leaves space for reflection”, “I must feel the freedom of being abroad” and “I’m a central european citizen, as far as my mind goes”.
